The Somatic Experiencing® (SE) method is a body-based approach to trauma healing which acknowledges that stressful experiences can manifest physiologically.

Many people experience some kind of trauma in their lives, resulting from a variety of stressors such as accidents, medical procedures, sexual or physical assault, emotional abuse, neglect, war, natural disasters, loss, birth trauma, or ongoing fear and conflict.
Stress from these traumatic experiences can live on in the body long after the initial experience is over, as we can get "stuck" in our feelings of overwhelm or shock. This lingering, incomplete stress response can then result in an impaired ability to function.
The Somatic Experiencing approach offers tool to resolve this incomplete and fixed energy, thus alleviating trauma symptoms.
Courtney is currently an SE practitioner-in-training. She offers sessions in-person, via phone, or via video chat.
